As we are celebrating our 10th anniversary in the UK, Stampin’ Up! UK has set us a challenge to make a whopping 10,000 cards across two card-making weekends in 2017, to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Earlier this year we held the first of our card-making weekends ‘Birthday Wishes’ from 23 – 25 June. Demonstrators across the country rallied together to hold their own events and produce an astounding 9,493 cards! to create just 507 cards for christmas wouldn’t be enough, so as we welcome back the second half of the 10,000 cards challenge with the Christmas Cheer Challenge! the goal has changed to a whopping 20,000 cards. This means we are aiming to make over 10,000 cards in just one weekend.
That’s alot of Christmas cards so I am using my crafty powers for goods and I am privileged to be able to hold my Christmas Cheer Challenge at my local RMHC in Camberwell. Their house is amazing and you only have to look around to see what a difference it makes to the families and past families that have stayed there, and they rely on donations to keep everything ticking over which means a constant need to raise awareness and funds. I’m really excited and nervous about this event it will be my first event away from my camera in my craft room. Lol But i’m really looking forward to all the joy and exposure it will bring the house and the families. So this is where I need everyone’s help. I would love to be able to donate 200 cards to the Camberwell house. That means I need alot of supplies and some little elves to help me. I think it would be great to be able to donate some crafty bits to the house as well so the families can spend some time crafting together and have a little distraction from there daily stresses. So i’m hoping to raise £500 to cover supplies and extras. You can donate as little or as much as you like by clicking the donate button below. It runs through paypal but you can still use your debit or credit card if you don’t have a paypal account. To make sure I have enough time to prepare the supplies I need all donations for supplies in by 15th November 2017. But you can still donate until the end of November and that will be used to purchase anything extra.
For those of you who are local I would love for you to pop in and give me a hand to assemble the cards on the day which will be Sunday 3rd December from 12-2pm. at the Ronald Mcdonald House Charity Camberwell, 6-9 Windsor Walk, Camberwell, London, SE5 8BB. I know there are a few who just want to pop in and see the house so there will be staff on the day more then willing to give you a tour then you can see just how great it is for yourself. The house is so bright and fun and they have a pirate ship in the garden, how cool is that???
Also if you can’t make it to the house on the 3rd and would still like to donate cards then let me know. There’s only a few rules you need to bear in mind. Only cards made over the weekend from 1-3rd December will count in the totals, they have to be made with just Stampin’ Up Supplies, they have to be Christmas Cards and they can’t have any branding on them, so you can’t put your business logo on them or handmade by stamp type of thing. Other then that you can make what you like and as many as you like. Looks like i’m going to be a really busy bee over the next few weeks. Lol If you want to know more or have any questions about this event fill in the details below and i’ll get back to you as quick as I can.
