Crafty Christmas Countdown #9 – Stylish Covered Note pad

I love how crafters can find inspiration from anywhere. This project was inspired by a recent trip to Kikki K. They have some gorgeous stationary items and they have just released a some new ranges which is where this note pad inspiration came from. I know the colours and design are not screaming christmas but I think it will make a great item for a Christmas fair, or if you wanted to make alot of cheap teacher christmas gifts that don’t look cheap.

When I saw the range I saw Powder Pink and Smoky slate, (I don’t see normal colours anymore, Lol) I was going to go gold and silver but then I found the champagne foil and OMG its soo nice. It has a bit of gold, a bit of silver and a tint of pink depending on how the light hits it. I hope this stays after christmas and doesn’t retire.

We are sadly limited to the 12×12 colours but the new in colours are so on trend that Fresh Fig worked beautifully and they came from the same pack so it means you can save some pennys. Monogramming seems to be another trend happening right now and the brushwork alphabet stamp is prefect for that, the clear embossing give it a bit of a raised edge so it looks more like a professional finish.

I really like the simplicty of this design but I also think it would look great with some tone on tone stamping. Stamp sets like rose wonder, falling flowers or birthday blooms would be my firsts to grab for that. They might even make nice wedding favors as floral phrases stamp would look great for that.

I picked up the note pads from a local £1 shop and they came in a pack of 4 so it was a little bargain and I love that I could turn a 25p note pad into something stylish and elegant.
