Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Todays challenge was to create a male gift card holder based on a sketch provided by the lovely Dee.

For once it wasn’t the sketch that freaked me out it was the theme. Male projects are so hard to make and not have them look boring. They have 3 things on them either cars, pockets or tools and after looking for inspiration on Pinterest with no luck. I turned to my friend google and saw a picture of a wallet that gave me a eureka moment.

I really love how this came out, the hexagon embossing folder gives it a fabric look and feel. The Quilted Christmas DSP had a perfect fabric look for the lining and the magnetic closure gives it that final wallet feel. I used the brushwork alphabet stamp to create the D on the front for Dad but I love that adding a monogram it gives it more of a personalised feel. A project wouldn’t be right without using my favourite stamp set of the moment. tags and trimmings. I think the “its whats in the inside that counts” sentiment fits the project perfectly.

I showed it to my boyfriend who was actually impressed for once and took time to admire it so I think it will make a great gift card holder for guys and not a car, pocket or tool in sight. Although you might want to add a more masculine gift card then what I had to hand. Lol

Brilliant wallet Angelina, it looks really elegant. I know I set a tough challenge but I think it was worth it because it’s given us several masculine ideas. I will definitely be making one of these wallets. Dee x

Hi Lynda, I based my design on an actual wallet I saw. I’ll try to put up a tutorial for next week for you.
