What The Craft Wednesday – Week 8: Re-inkers
- March 01, 2017
Today we are focusing on Re-inkers
Re-inkers were something I never really thought about when I first joined stamping up, I never really stamped before so didn’t think I would run out of ink in my ink pads for ages. How wrong was I, Lol. I’m slowly building up my collection as a necessity because i’m definitely stamping alot and there’s nothing worse then having to stop what your doing, order and then wait for Mr brown to bring the delivery before you can start again. My advise is get the re-inker when you buy the ink pads saves disappointment. Plus you can do more then just re-ink your ink pads with them.
With not having much time lately to craft I didn’t get a chance to actually play with this technique and test it all the way before doing this video. I did think about doing something else in the series, but I wanted the What the Craft series to be something that was beneficial to newbie crafters, to help build confidence in crafting as well as something that helped me explore different techniques that I have known about but never tried. Its good to be pushed outside of your comfort zone to help you expand your craft. This is something we can all learn together. I’m far from an expert as you can see but we all start as newbies at some point.
So in saying that I do apologies for my ramblings and the length of the video, I did think about re-filming it but what you saw was truly the beginning of my exploration on this technique and the ramblings were due to my head racing with different ideas and colours to try plus actually having fun while crafting which is something i’ve missed for a while. Really wishing I had some more of the re-inker colours to play with. Lol
I do hope you will try this technique, let me know how you get on and what colours worked for you, how many drops you used, if you found water worked better then the alcohol etc. It’s good to share so we can all learn together.
For some bizzare reason I couldn’t post the video for the slime effect on my website so make sure you check out my Facebook page as I have posted the video on there for you. Oh and you’ll be pleased to know my smurfing was only temporary. After a good hand scrub and a couple loads of washing up after dinner all the ink was gone.
