Its the lovely Sams of samscraftythings birthday today, without her we wouldn’t have this great challenge every fortnight so make sure you say Happy Birthday when you reach Her blog. This weeks design was done by the lovely Debbie who unfortunately cannot take part in the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge this week but did leave us a great sketch to work on.

I love that this sketch is so simply but can create a multitude of card for any occasion. I’ve been looking for my mojo again, I know, swear I lose that thing more then my stylus. Lol. First I wanted to use the it’s my party dsp stack and stamp but As i’ve used it on a few projects I wanted to go with something different, I’m not really a flower girl so i’ve been trying to use them (pushing my comfort zone and all) more I found the pretty petals dsp stack that had been pushed to the back of the dsp stacks and you cant get more flowers in a dsp stack, lol. The design that jumped out at me was quiet simple in colour so it was a good starting point. The rest of the card came together quite quickly after that.

I used calypso coral as the base card and originally I was going for a plain very vanilla background but the card felt like it needed something else, lucky that on the flip side of the dsp was this very simple spotted background. I was going to layer a few circles and hunt for the right sentiment. But then I watch one of Sams (Pootles) card videos and she reminded me about the you’re so lovely stamp set I had sitting on my shelf.

Its the perfect size and it has little leaves going around so perfect for the old olive element and as I needed a thank you card the thank you sentiment in the set was perfect, a few rhinestones and candy dots to finish it off. I added a very vanilla layer to the inside and just kept it blank. Also I used a very vanilla c6 envelope and stamped the for you sentiment on the front in matching ink. This card was really simple and quick to make so great if you need to make a few in one go.
