Happy New Year Everyone,
Thanks for joining me on another blog hop; today we are focusing on items from the sale-a-bration catalogue. I must admit i forgot about this hop but having a reminder a week before really helped to kick-start my brain a bit.
Angie from Mychicnscratch.com did a series of one sheet wonders just before Xmas and I never got round to making the xmas project as 2015 ran into warp speed, with Xmas, moving house and a daughter’s birthday in the middle of it all it was over before I could catch a breath. So I thought it would be a great way to try the technique for myself and also to demonstrate a way of stretching those free products a little bit more. So this is my take on Angie’s one Sheet Wonder technique.
I wanted to change the way I combine colour, so im not 100% sure if I like the colour combo but i think it will grow on me, The colours I used were Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate, Rose Red and of course the good old Whisper white for stampin’. I limited my inks to those 3 colours as well. I only used the Lots of labels dies set and for the free Sale-a-bration Products I used the Perfectly Artistic DSP and the Perfect Pairings Stamp. I actually used all but one of the stamps from the set on this project so I really got the most of the stamp set. Best of all it only used one of the sheets of DSP so you could make loads of different variations using the other colours in the pack, there was a small bit of DSP left over that I could have used on a tag or something small as well. I used the C6 whisper white envelopes which were a little on the big side but if i used a full a4 sheet it might have been a better fit. (I trimmed mine down to 11″).
So, from one sheet of 12×12 DSP and I think it was 10 sheets of cardstock altogether, I managed to get 9 cards and a box so I’m very pleased with that. Overall I’m pleased with this project and got to show myself that a little of Stampin’ Up can go a long way if your creative with the cuts.
I’m loving the Sale-a-bration stamps and maybe its the excitement of new products, But I wanted to share so I’ve decided to give one of my lucky viewers a chance to win the stamp set I used ( It will be a fresh one). All you have to do is place an order from my online shop before midnight on the 4th Feb ’16 and you’ll be entered into the draw to win the Perfect Pairings stamp set.
